A Medical Provider or a specially trained Nurse provides care to meet the medical needs of the entire family regardless of insurance status and on a sliding scale fee, for those who qualify.  Some services are provided at no cost.


CHILD HEALTH
Program Coordinator:

Caswell County Health Department serves
children from brith until 21 years of age for
routine well-care.  Physicals are done at routine
intervals by appointment.

CHILD SERVICES COORDINATION

A Child Services Coordination (CSC) Program offers
a social worker who collaborates with families to
identify specialized support services for children,
birth to age three, who are at risk for developmental delays and have special needs.

PEDIATRIC PRIMARY CARE
For appointments:

Sick children are cared for by our medical provider. 
Appointments in the clinic are available Monday - Friday.

HEALTH CHECK/HEALTH CHOICE
Program Coordinator:

Depending on family income, children may be eligible
for Health Check (Medicaid) or NC Health Choice--free
or low-cost health insurance for children and teens under
19 years old (21 in some cases).

IMMUNIZATIONS

Immunizations are given according to the state of North
Carolina's guidelines.

WOMEN'S HEALTH
Program Coordinator:

The Women's Health Program offers medical services to women, with an emphasis on reproductive health.  Services include: physical exam, laboratory testing and referrals as
needed for mammography services.  In additon, basic birth control methods are available.

SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTIONS PROGRAM

The Sexually Transmitted Infections Program offers diagnosis, treatment, and educational counseling for sexually transmitted infections.

ADULT PRIMARY CARE
For appointments:

The Adult Primary Care clinic offers acute care for sick
adults and disease management for those with chronic illnesses such as diabetes and hypertension.  Appointments
in the clinic are available Monday - Friday

TUBERCULOSIS CONTROL PROGRAM
Program Coordinator:

This program provides TB skin tests upon requests, identifies TB cases, and initiates control measures.  In addition, the program arranges for treatment of TB cases and their contacts.

COMMUNICABLE DISEASE PROGRAM

This program is responsible for the investigation and surveillance of communicable diseases.  Once identified,
the communicable disease program staff ensures proper compliance of control measures to prevent the disease from spreading.

MATERNAL HEALTH

The goal of the Maternal Health Program is to ensure a
positvie pregnancy that ends in the delivery of a healthy
baby.  We offer medical care, physical examinations, nutritional counsling, health care, and other appropriate interventions as needed to all eligible pregnant women.

CHILDBIRTH CLASSES

Childbirth topics include pain management, comfort
techniques, stages of labor, and relaxation methods.

MATERNAL OUTREACH WORKER

The Maternal Outreach Worker (MOW) assists pregnant
women and new mothers with the non-clinical dimensions
of pregnancy and infant care.  This includes emotional
support, educational sessions, and help identifying and
obtaining needed resources.

MATERNITY CARE COORDINATION

The Maternity Care Coordination (MCC) Program offers
a social worker assigned to provide pregnant women and
their families with the necessary services, information,
and resources to ensure good health throughout the
pregnancy and improve their overall quality of life.

LACTATION EDUCATION

Studies have shown that breastfeeding is usually the healthiest
method for feeding babies.  Lactation educators at Caswell
County Health Department are available to assist breastfeeding moms and answer questions.

POSTPARTUM/ NEWBORN HOME VISITATION PROGRAMA public health nurse conducts an in-home physical/
emotional assessment, identifies and makes referrals for
problems, responds to physician referrals, and provides
postpartum and parenting education.
